HRPAO Code of Ethics
The Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario Code of Ethics:
Human resources professionals shall…
- continue professional growth in human resources management, in support of the goals, objectives and by-laws of the Association;
- not knowingly violate or cause to be violated any legislated act, regulation or by-law that relates to the management of human resources;
- commit to the values of respect for human dignity and human rights, and promote human development in the workplace, within the profession and society as a whole;
- treat information obtained in the course of business as confidential, and avoid, or disclose, any conflict of interest that might influence personal actions or judgements;
- refrain from inappropriately using their position to secure special privileges, gain or benefit for themselves, their employers or the Association;
- acknowledge an obligation to the employer community to encourage and foster generally accepted codes of moral behaviour; and,
- practise respect and regard for other professional associations.
